"Earth-chan's disgust (Infection)" is a ceramic sculpture by Louise Hapton.

Inspired by the meme "Earth-chan" which was humanizing planet earth which was popular during Louise's teenage years. People would represent the Earth as a young girl with fragile health (because of pollution). In this sculpture, the artist reclaims this meme and transforms it into a meditative artwork. This bust was glazed with sculptural expanding glaze. The idea was to make Earth-chan's features look infected, bubbling with protrusions from global warming. We are the virus. In a world where climate activists get more sentenced than actual rapists or murderers, this sculpture evokes a general ras-de-bol from Gen Z.
